We actually were set up on a blind date (which neither one of us had ever been on before) by a mutual friend of ours. I was extremely hesitant and almost cancelled right before we were planning on meeting. I’m just not a blind date kind of girl. But I went along with it, and I could never have imagined it would be such a wonderful first (blind!) date. At the end of the night he kissed me (which is also something I NEVER do). It was a knock your socks off, take your breath away, make your heart skip a beat amazing kiss! We talked nonstop after that night, and within six months we were engaged. It all happened so fast, but when you know, you definitely know!

We are planning the wedding for the summer of 2010. We (and our very generous parents J) have set a budget and decided that whatever money we don’t use for the wedding we are going to use for a down payment on our first home. So we are trying to keep costs as low as possible. Its pretty tough though, as you know, planning a cheap wedding. We have decided to cut a lot of corners, like having the reception and ceremony on Brooks’ aunt’s property instead of renting a venue, getting cupcakes instead of a cake, buying or renting an inexpensive dress, and making most of the decorations ourselves. But the ONE thing that I said I was not going to budge on was a great photographer. The cake will be eaten, the flowers will wilt, the dress will get put away for years, but the pictures are what is going to last us a lifetime of memories. You’re photos are absolutely gorgeous. They capture all the little moments and emotions that mean so much. I want our pictures to bring a tear to my eye when I look at them, just as the ones on your website did.
