Happy One Year!

Happy ONE year, sweet little man! It’s amazing how fast a year goes by!

First we took some pictures of him with birthday cake. He LOVED it and made a lovely mess of course!

So, then we put him in the sink to bathe him and get all the cake off. The first shot is what happens when you take cake crumbs from a baby; however, bubbles can be a nice distraction!

Making actions adjust to your image {Photoshop Stuff}

Monday, February 6th, 2012

As you know, most actions that are used will need to be adjusted to your images and thankfully actions have been created with layers which help in doing so! I, however, wanted to go beyond the usual reducing/adding opacity in layers to showing you my step by step process on this particular image below.

For the shot below, since it was taken in the Fall, I wanted more “Fall” colors so I chose Citrus Orange from my Sweet & Sleek set knowing it would give me some good orange and red tones.

I pressed “play” on Citrus Orange and then all the steps below!

Before/After

**Edited to add a couple more!!**

Ok, so below, I chose same picture as above but thought I would add a couple more different looks.
I chose to use “Coloricious”, this action was a freebie around Christmas time. (I will be adding a page on my blog in the future where you can download some free actions all year long)

Here is the action ran “as is”

“Un-Selected” – A Bit more Funk

and lastly one more edit. Below, I ran “Perfection” from Sweet & Sleek, and reduced the overall opacity to 70%, clicked on the background and burned edges again.

*Having a SOOC shot with good exposure and lighting opens up a wide range of editing options.

If you like this post, let me know and I will post more in the future! !

A little bit of my world . .

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

So, I have been working on a personal journey of capturing more of my life. While my job is to take pictures, when I come home, it is the last thing I think of doing and I really don’t want to miss the little things that will soon be gone as my kids get older. They grow so unbelievably fast! My series will mostly be in BW as that is my first love when it comes to photography. I hope you enjoy a little bit of my world :)
